May it be off-season indulgence or blizzard encasing the ground with snow, our team has always been striving for improvements. Let us revisit some of these moments from the past three weeks.
First and foremost, we offer the sincerest welcome to our new members, who joined this semester. We would also like to cordially welcome our coach, Anastasia, who will be teaming up with Breno in overseeing our practices and encourage us to further pursue triathlons. Her seasoned experience as a former Northeastern Tri Coach and as a coach for her own coaching company, Ask Endurance, will guide us vigorously down the road. Welcome to the team!
Our BUTT family has also more than doubled in size since last year, and Spirit Night was emblematic of how we, unique in our strength and characters, stood together and nourish our team spirit. Some of the highlights of the night include the beanie giveaway and Lindsey blowing the competition away with her transition skills (and speed laces) during the halftime competition put on by Club Sports.
Nutrition, being the fourth discipline of triathlon, is indispensable from a triathlete’s performance in the field. This semester our team has the honor of partnering as Team Ambassadors with Skratch Labs, who provides timely nutrients before, during, and after our strenuous practices and races. Stay hydrated everyone!
Last weekend, BUTT member, Will Chen, completed his first multi-sport event at MIT's Indoor Triathlon! He slayed most of the field in the bike leg, as well as the swim leg, earning him a spot in the top 10. Congrats, Will!
Looking ahead, every month is filled with anticipation for several major events and races. Coming up this Sunday, the BUTTs take on the Boston Triathlon Team's Indoor Time Trial. See us blow our heat away at 1pm and 1:40pm! Later this month, the BUTTs return to Hyannis with two relay teams and individual members racing the full or half marathon.
There are also 76 days until USAT Collegiate Club Nationals in Alabama, and the BUTT Nationals team has been finalized. Keep an eye for out for the nationals team roster announcement in the coming weeks
Keep swimming, friends, until you can no longer lift your arms. Then you will get on a bike and keep pedaling until you cannot pedal any further. Take a moment, turn around and keep running until you're back at where you started, only with more strength, spirit and pride.
Stay tuned for more events and moments through our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
