About our Team

Our mission is to bring a triathlon presence to the BU community and offer a way for students to learn about the sport and compete intercollegiately. The goal is to make triathlons fun and accessible and to show that athletes at the collegiate level are capable of being competitive in the broader triathlon community. All it takes is the desire to improve and the willingness to train. We encourage all full-time BU undergraduate and graduate students to come out for the team.

The Boston University Triathlon Team consists of members ranging in experience from beginners to veteran triathletes to high level competitors. We are continually growing as a team, and we welcome anyone who is interested in becoming involved in the marvelous world of multi-sport!

We typically compete in Sprint and Olympic races. Sprints range from 300-500m swim, 10-13 mile bike and 3.1 mile run. Olympic distance triathlons typically 1500 meters of swimming, 25 miles (40km) of biking, and 6.2 miles of running. Triathlons consist of my many other variations, including duathlons, aquathlons, and aquabikes, and other distances such as the Half and Full Ironman.
